THE FREMONT Artisan Market
Our monthly artisan market is a showcase of the most creative artists, handcrafted goods, and up-cycled art that Fremont and the surrounding communities have to offer. It is scheduled for the second Saturday of every month and held outdoors next to the May Brothers Building in beautiful Old Town Fremont.
THE ARTISAN MARKET WILL BE HOSTED IN THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE MAY BROTHERS BUILDING IN OLD TOWN FREMONT NEBRASKA.
THE MAY BROTHERS BUILDING ADDRESS IS 105 E 6TH STREET. THE ADDRESS OF THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE BUILDING IS 544 N. PARK AVE FREMONT, NE 68025 (AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF 5TH AND PARK AVE.)
THE FREMONT ARTISAN MARKET IS HELD ON THE SECOND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

The Fremont Artisan Market (FAM) is a unique mix of art, handcrafted, and up-cycled items. All work is sold by the artists themselves, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the creative processes and materials used. Some artists even work and give demonstrations while at the Market.
Opening day for the 2017 season is May 13th and the final market of the season will be Oct 14th.
With convenient and free parking, outstanding accommodations and restaurants nearby, this is an event that you won’t want to miss.
This is our second year of holding the Fremont Artisan Market. We've learned a few things along the way. Last year we simply had you register to exhibit at the market. This year we are asking you to submit an application. The purpose of this is to insure that each exhibitor meets the standards and requirements set forth for our vendors. In this way, the Fremont Artisan Market will develop a reputation for being a gathering of the finest artisans and crafters in the area.
This year we are also implementing a $20.00 registration fee for each market. This fee must be paid prior to attending a market event, and will be refunded to you at the end of the market day. Space is limited so we ask that you register early. If artisan applications exceed our limited space of 40 spots, there will be a process put into place that will select artisans based on criteria specified in the Exhibit Standards.
Each artisan display space will be 10’x10′. Spaces will be allocated at the discretion of the Fremont Artisan Market organizers. Requests will be considered and met whenever possible. Corner spaces are not charged or allocated as prime locations.
Please indicate on the registration form if electrical service is required. If so, please bring your own extension cord.
Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own display, canopy/tent and booth equipment. A canopy or tent is required.

WHAT IS THE COST?
WE ARE IMPLEMENTING A $20.00 REGISTRATION FEE FOR EACH MARKET. THIS FEE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO ATTENDING A MARKET. THIS FEE WILL BE REFUNDED AT THE MARKET. THERE WILL BE NO REFUND IF YOU REGISTERED BUT DID NOT ATTEND. NO EXCEPTIONS. WE EXPECT A HIGH DEMAND THIS YEAR, SO THE SOONER YOU CAN APPLY THE BETTER. IF WE GET TOO MANY APPLICATIONS, THEN THE F.A.M. WILL DETERMINE WHICH ARTISAN WILL BE INVITED.
WHAT KIND OF VENDORS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
THE F.A.M. IS INTERESTED IN VENDORS THAT SELL HANDCRAFTED ITEMS AND GOODS. NO ANTIQUES (WE ALREADY HAVE FANTASTIC ANTIQUE STORES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ALREADY) NO FOOD ( FREMONT ALREADY HAS A WONDERFUL FARMERS MARKET ON SATURDAYS) AND WE DON'T WANT TO COMPETE WITH OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS.

WHAT TIME IS THE MARKET OPEN?
THE MARKET IS TYPICALLY OPEN FROM 8:00 AM TO 3:00 PM. WE ARE VERY STRICT THAT YOU DO NOT BREAK DOWN BEFORE 3:00PM. WE HAVE INFORMED THE PUBLIC THAT WE ARE OPEN UNTIL 3 PM, AND WE NEED TO HONOR THAT STATEMENT.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AVAILABLE?
F.A.M.’S COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO MAKE SURE THERE IS FOOD AND DRINK AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. HOWEVER, WE SUGGEST YOU BRING YOUR OWN SNACKS AND ESPECIALLY WATER JUST IN CASE.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS FOUL WEATHER?
WE WILL ONLY CANCEL THE MARKET IN THE EVENT OF SEVERE WEATHER (LIGHTENING, TORNADOES, ETC). CHECK THE WEBSITE OR OUR FACEBOOK PAGE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
DO I NEED A TABLE?
YES. YOU WILL ALSO NEED A TENT OR CANOPY. ALL ARTISANS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SOME SORT OF COVERING OVER THEIR AREA. IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE, THERE WILL BE SOME AVAILABLE FOR RENT THE DAY OF THE MARKET.

THIS IS A FREE PARKING GARAGE A HALF BLOCK FROM THE MARKET. LOCATED BETWEEN 4TH AND 5TH STREET ON PARK AVE.
WHAT IS THE SMOKING POLICY FOR F.A.M.?
AS OF MAY 1ST, 2010, NEBRASKA HAS ENACTED A NEW NON-SMOKING LAW. BECAUSE THE MARKET IS TECHNICALLY AN OUTDOOR PUBLIC SPACE, THE LAW DOES NOT APPLY. HOWEVER, WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SHOPPING AND VENDING AT THE F.A.M. A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR ALL, SO SMOKING IS PROHIBITED WITHIN THE ARTISAN MARKET.
I HAVE SOME CRAFT SUPPLIES I WOULD LIKE TO SELL. CAN I?
F.A.M. WANTS TO BE KNOWN AS AN ARTISAN FORUM, SO UNLESS YOU HAVE MADE THE SUPPLIES (I.E., TORCH GLASS BEADS, DYED AND/OR SPUN YARN), NO, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR BOOTH.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
NO. F.A.M. HAS STRICT RULES ABOUT HYGIENE IN REGARDS TO ANIMALS, SO PLEASE, BOTH CUSTOMERS AND ARTISANS, LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME. SERVICE DOGS ARE ALLOWED, HOWEVER.
CAN I SELL BAKED GOODS AT THE MARKET?
YES. WE ARE NOW GOING TO ALLOW ARTISAN TO SELL BAKES GOODS. WE WILL BE UPDATING OUR GUIDELINES FOR FOOD HANDLING IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
WILL THERE BE SOMEONE TO HELP ME WITH MY SET-UP OR TO RELIEVE ME FOR BREAKS?
PLEASE ASK IF YOU NEED HELP. ONCE AGAIN KEEP IN MIND THAT THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE VOLUNTEERS THAT HAVE THEIR OWN BOOTHS TO SET UP. IT IS BEST IF YOU ARE SELF-SUFFICIENT.
